Pradaxa Blood Thinners Lawsuit

The Bellwether Trial and Pradaxa Blood Thinners

In a recent press release, the attorney for the plaintiff, Linda L. Poindexter, alleged that another woman was unnecessarily put at risk when Pradaxa blood thinners were prescribed to her by her doctor. According to the Pradaxa lawsuit, Linda L. Poindexter, died of stomach bleeding from a possible allergic reaction to Pradaxa.

Her death was attributed to an unreasonable reaction to the anticoagulants in Pradaxa. Her case is typical of those raised by plaintiffs’ attorneys who are seeking damages for the pain, suffering and other long-term effects Pradaxa caused their clients. (In a separate case, another woman died in a nursing home because of Pradaxa.)

Pradaxa Blood Thinners Lawsuit

The lawsuit revolves around the fact that Poindexter’s death was attributed to the side effects of Pradaxa and potentially entitled her family to compensation for her pain, suffering and other complications. According to the initial press reports, Poindexter had been treated for gastroenteritis and had gastritis prior to taking Pradaxa.

These conditions are typically associated with complications such as bleeding, stomach ulcers, and internal bleeding, but sometimes can be associated with more serious complications such as pulmonary embolism and thrombosis. Based on the initial reports, it was determined that Poindexter died as the result of complications from Pradaxa, rather than from the side effects of this prescription medication.

This information raises questions regarding whether or not the medical professionals who prescribed pradaxa blood thinners were aware of the potential side effects patients could experience.

It also raises questions regarding whether or not these physicians followed proper clinical guidelines in prescribing the medications in the first place.

In addition to these two important issues, there is another set of patients who have alleged that Pradaxa caused them too many internal bleeding complications to justify its use.

One of these plaintiffs brought a separate lawsuit against the company, but with the help of the consolidated litigation service, was able to join multiple different plaintiffs into a single lawsuit against the company. While this decision may prevent the consolidation of litigation in the future, it may also hinder other potential plaintiffs from receiving adequate compensation due to their own health problems.

Prada has settled numerous lawsuits claiming that pradaxa blood thinners caused health complications among some of its patients.

These class actions were supported by various patients, including former patients who claimed to suffer gastrointestinal complications, as well as long term users of the medication who were diagnosed with esophageal cancer.

While the claims in these lawsuits are all legitimate, most of these plaintiffs were unable to receive compensation due to other limitations placed on class action suits. Some class action lawsuits cannot proceed because of the difficulty of proving that a manufacturer has a negligent duty.

In addition, there are many plaintiffs who do not receive adequate compensation because they could not establish that they sustained significant injuries due to their use of pradaxa blood thinners.

The plaintiffs who brought the initial pradaxa blood thinners lawsuit received compensation when the FDA warned that the blood thinners posed a serious health risk.

The agency claimed that there was evidence that these medications caused significant internal bleeding complications and liver damage, as well as signs of kidney failure.

Although these internal bleeding complications and kidney failure cases are relatively rare, they still represented a large number of claims filed by plaintiffs. In response to the FDA’s warning, the company issued several statements claiming that it was only meant to be used in cases of liver or kidney disease and did not intended to be used for any other medical condition.

However, these statements attracted further criticism from medical professionals who claimed that it was impossible for the company to guarantee that these medications would not result in harmful side effects.

As a result of the bellwether trial, the FDA began to issue stronger warnings about anticoagulants, and pradaxa blood thinners were eventually removed from the shelves of pharmacies nationwide.

However, this was only the beginning of a long series of legal battles and numerous allegations. Many people are interested in filing a pradaxa blood thinner lawsuit in hopes of receiving compensation for not only personal injuries sustained as a result of the medication, but also for the negative impact it had on their health and the lives of their children.

Some of the more prominent victims of the anticoagulants include young men who died as a result of internal bleeding complications and liver failure caused by the drugs. Even though the number of such lawsuits has substantially decreased over time, it is still possible for people to seek compensation on a personal level if they have suffered an injury or illness due to the medication.
